<div dir="ltr">Unfortunately I don't think that there is any better tag to describe them. My dissertation was on using OSM for visually impaired people and I think that was the only tag I found. I just did a quick search on overpass (<a href="https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/LVF">https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/LVF</a>) and looked at <a href="http://www.blind.accessiblemaps.org/index2.html">http://www.blind.accessiblemaps.org/index2.html</a> and I found that the tag isn't used much at all. Because OSM is global it might make sense to use that tag because it is the standard tag but you could also create a new one maybe traffic_signals:tactile=yes. What do other people think?</div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Thu, 29 Aug 2019 at 17:31, Martin BODIN <<a href="mailto:martin.bodin@ens-lyon.org">martin.bodin@ens-lyon.org</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0px 0px 0px 0.8ex;border-left:1px solid rgb(204,204,204);padding-left:1ex"><div dir="ltr">Hi,<div>I currently live in London where there is a lot of pedestrian crossing with a special nodule / button hidden below a lot pedestrian crossing boxes. I would like to know how to map them well in OSM.</div><div>These nodules are shown in this video: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRPWlBAgSnw" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRPWlBAgSnw</a> They are small buttons hidden below the box with the button to call the traffic lights. These nodules turn when it is safe to cross the road.</div><div>The closest tag to it might be the vibration key: <a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:traffic_signals:vibration" target="_blank">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:traffic_signals:vibration</a> However, the word “vibration” technically describes something different (this nodule turns but does not vibrate, and it is positionated in a very specific location below). I thus fear that the “vibration” tag might be misleading, leading to people waiting with the hand on top of the box expecting it to vibrate in some ways instead of this particular behaviour.</div><div>I am not blind myself and have no idea how to map this in the right way, which is why I am asking in this mailing list.</div><div>Thanks for your help!<br>Regards,<br>Martin Constantino–Bodin.</div></div>
