Many many moons ago I wanted to do the same sort of Debian installation on a SparcStation 20 so I signed up for this list: <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-sparc/">http://lists.debian.org/debian-sparc/</a><div>
<br></div><div><a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-sparc/"></a>I still get lots of e-mail from the list, so I imagine it's quite active and they'd be able to help you at least get Debian going.</div><div><br></div>
<div>As far as Mapnik et al. compiling? Let us know! :)<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">2011/1/20 Iván Sánchez Ortega <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:ivan@sanchezortega.es">ivan@sanchezortega.es</a>></span><br><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex;">
Hi all,<br>
<br>
I'm trying to get my hands on a big, fat, beautiful SPARC machine with<br>
gazillions of computing power (see <a href="http://www.spectra.com/pdfs/e6800.pdf" target="_blank">http://www.spectra.com/pdfs/e6800.pdf</a>).<br>
<br>
<br>
We'll be trying to put Debian or Ubuntu on that thing. Now the question is:<br>
does mapnik/mod_tile/tirex compile on a SPARC platform? What's the best way<br>
to render tiles in that thing?<br>
<br>
<br>
Best,<br>
