<div dir="ltr">Hi,<div><br></div><div style>i wanted to discuss a new idea for GSOC 2013.</div><div style><br></div><div style>we can introduce a new feature in the OSM, a sentiment view. there are diaries of people in an area, we can use senti-wordnet ( <a href="http://sentiwordnet.isti.cnr.it">http://sentiwordnet.isti.cnr.it</a> ) and use a classifier like support vector machine to further refine it and then divide the diaries into 10 different categories ranging from vary sad to very happy the category having the most diaries will be considered the mood of the area and we can have an overlay on the map of 10 different colours 1 for each category this way we can give an approximate mood of the area </div>
<div style><br></div><div style>secondly by parsing the diaries and getting local news of that area using google news we can also find out the popular things and events in an area this might as well help in finding out any speciality of that area or anything special happening like when there is the fest in rio many diaries and news will be regarding to that and we can track popular things and events. we can also have a text search in diaries so that people can track the popularity of businesses or their products.</div>
<div style><br></div><div style>thanks,</div><div style>Pariskshit Dutt</div></div>
