<div dir="ltr"><span class="" style="border-collapse:collapse;font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><div><div>Rick,</div><div><br></div><div>I'm part of the group at Azavea working on the temporal geocoder mentioned in the GISCafe article. We've been following the discussion on this list as well as the work by the NYPL Labs (with whom we've been in touch) around historical GIS. We would love to have our project complement the work being done on OHM as much as possible so that we're not all duplicating efforts.</div>
<div><br></div><div>We've actually pushed back the end date of our project by a few months since it seems like standards for tracking historic geospatial data are developing so quickly. I think there are some differences in focus between our planned temporal geocoder work and what OHM is developing, but we hope to build something that would work with the standards OHM might create.</div>

<div>Here is a great article on historic geocoding from GISCafe. I am not sure how this affects the capabilities at Historic OpenStreetMap, maybe you who are a bit more techincally savvy and more familiar with the OSM architecture will be able to use this information. It is a very interesting article:</div>
