This would be a two step process.<br>Firstly, you would need to (and correct me if I'm wrong, wiki people!) ensure that the maps are either out of copyright, public domain or CC0, CC etc. <br><br>Secondly also ensuring that each Map has all the necessary metadata associated with it in Commons (scale, dates, author, publishing data, etc). <br><br>So an institution would need to first import their images with metadata into Commons first.
