As a historian, I understand this demand very well and agree with it. However, the thing is, how to tag the source.</p>
<p>Now, I tag objects source=mza:d9 (example: <a href="http://www.openhistoricalmap.org/way/198280706" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.openhistoricalmap.org/way/198280706</a>). The explanation of the "mza:d9" value is here: <a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Open_Historical_Map/Projects/Indication_Sketches" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Open_Historical_Map/Projects/Indication_Sketches</a>. I understand very well, that such tagging is not perfect, so I have few hints, how to improve it.</p>
<p><strong>Description web page</strong><br>
When you see the tag box at the page <a href="http://www.openhistoricalmap.org/way/198280706" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.openhistoricalmap.org/way/198280706</a>, the "source" key is linked to wiki-OSM (<a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:source?uselang=cs" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:source?uselang=cs</a>). We can create a own web page (at wiki-OSM?), where all sources (abbreviations) will be described.</p>
<p><strong>Linking</strong><br>
Another option is to provide hyperlink to the source map. In this case: <a href="https://www.mza.cz/indikacniskici/index.php#show:MOR080818300" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mza.cz/indikacniskici/index.php#show:MOR080818300</a>. However the hyperlink can be broken in future.</p>
<p><strong>Whole source</strong><br>
We can also provide both, a full source description and a hyperlink. For example:<br>
Moravský zemský archiv, D9 Indikační skici, sig. MOR080818300; <a href="https://www.mza.cz/indikacniskici/index.php#show:MOR080818300" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">https://www.mza.cz/indikacniskici/index.php#show:MOR080818300</a></p>
<p style="font-size:small;color:#666">—<br>You are receiving this because you were mentioned.<br>Reply to this email directly, <a href="https://github.com/OpenHistoricalMap/data/issues/1" target="_blank">view it on GitHub</a>, or <a href="https://github.com/notifications/unsubscribe-auth/AALM4EUJDFJLLSUQSGTTCK3PTKPTVANCNFSM4HJ4ICYQ" target="_blank">mute the thread</a>.<img src="https://github.com/notifications/beacon/AALM4EVGPFZGNQVDHRPGF53PTKPTVA5CNFSM4HJ4ICY2YY3PNVWWK3TUL52HS4DFUVEXG43VMWVGG33NNVSW45C7NFSM4GRR2UCQ.gif" height="1" width="1" alt=""></p>
