<div dir="ltr">Hi Noel, Guilherme, <div><br></div><div>Those state and country lines you see & places are actually from <a href="https://www.naturalearthdata.com/">Natural Earth Data</a> & they're aren't really supposed to be there... that's one of the items that needs to be cleaned up. OSM actually uses Natural Earth Data as a substitute for its own data when you're zoomed further out... it's another item we'll have to adjust & work around, as there's no Historical Version of Natural Earth (although I'm trying to collect or create shape files of old boundaries <a href="https://github.com/OpenHistoricalMap/data">here</a>.) </div><div><br></div><div>Natural Earth is a bit of a GIS & Internet treasure due to its completeness, consistency, and also its license, which is <a href="https://www.naturalearthdata.com/about/">public domain</a>.</div><div><br></div><div>But... back to OHM licensing. I've been an advocate of cc0 licensing by default, item-level licensing for exceptions, and of not importing OSM data* at scale into OHM. That said, I'm not the only one involved in this project. I'd love to get more people involved. Perhaps we need a licensing committee to put together some policies & practices? I'd support anyone taking the lead on that. : )</div><div><br></div><div>Which reminds me: we'll restart our regular meeting schedule & I'm also thinking of a way to have ongoing async discussions on topics like these. it is great to see the site back up. The new interface is also great.<br>

I'm finding some errors, but I guess it is expected at this point. On the<br>
other hand, I can confirm that I was able to login to the platform and make<br>
edits.<br>
<br>
My main question right now is about some new features added to the map,<br>
like state lines (they were not there before, were they?), cities and towns<br>
and also some roads shown at larger zoom levels. Where did this data came<br>
from? Does it suggest a change about our policies regarding OpenStreetMap?<br>
<br>
To be more direct: is there any discussion about adapting OHM license in<br>
order to make possible to import data from OSM?<br>
<br>
