Hi Mike,<br>
<br>
I think the map to which you give links was referring to an earlier
earthquake (September 30, 2009). <br>
<br>
The May 9, 2010 earthquake was more to the North, along the same coast,
and the closest town was Meulaboh :<br>
<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/pager/events/us/2010wbaq/index.html">http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/pager/events/us/2010wbaq/index.html</a><br>
<br>
(It is possible to register on this site to receive instant earthquakes
notifications by email).<br>
<br>
<br>
There could be a need for a simple way to make similar maps with OSM
(especially for the areas where OSM coverage is better). <br>
<br>
A instance derived from OpenStreetBugs was set up for Haiti, at
ose.petschge.de. (But it does not seem possible to add reports any more
(?)).<br>
<br>
Maybe an option to add photos would be nice too (and could also benefit
OpenStreetBugs. Still there is a distinct usage between giving
information for improving the map and using the map for reporting event
information).<br>
<br>
And to use markers of different colors, depending maybe on categories ?<br>
<br>
For another example, see :<br>
<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="http://daveslandslideblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/another-major-landslide-in-rio-de.html">http://daveslandslideblog.blogspot.com/2010/04/another-major-landslide-in-rio-de.html</a><br>
<br>
Best regards,<br>
