Jean Guilhem<div><br></div><div>Tx 4 following on this: </div><div><br></div><div>Always a good thing to have post dis imagery for sure, but always coming a couple of days/ weeks after occurence of disaster, hard to get and cloudy weather is not helping. Since it's easier to get pre-disaster data, this is where the focus should be pre disaster. By reading situation reports on the ground, it's still possible to locate approximatively main bottlenecks which will be useful for coordination mapping at small scale (Ex of product are concept of operations or road conditions maps from the UN LogCluster - search their website for details).<br>

For post-disaster imagery, I think the whole AOI is relevant, since we
have no imagery at all now. (Modis could be available, but 250 m
resolution doesn't look very useful for mapping).<br>
A need would be, for example, to map blocked roads.<br>
(But i hear that it is still raining over the area, so there might be
clouds).<br>

For pre-disaster, there are already ways showing coverage, it seems. It
might just be a matter of creating a relation. (not counting the overly
cloudy CBERS over Teresopolis - was just better than nothing). Going to
work on georeferencing another one, hopefully covering Nova Friburgo.<br>

large, so it probably doesn't matter. And that in the hills the shift
is "crazy".<br>

Probably because of DEM correction, or lack thereof.<br>

The hilly areas have very few GPS traces I can calibrate Bing.  Given<br>
this is highly rugged terrain I suspect that a single GPS trace would<br>
be of little help.  I've seen several inconsistencies with the edited<br>
that.<br>
