Sitting here in the airport waiting to get back home after the HOT<br>
Summit 2015 I had some time to reflect on the Summit and the one thing<br>
that I wanted to share with everyone as soon as possible in light of<br>
the Nepal activation is how much good will there is toward HOT and OSM<br>
in the larger humanitarian world.<br>
<br>
Our community and our work is very appreciated and OSM maps are the<br>
defacto base map for many major humanitarian and government<br>
organizations around the world for a variety of reasons.<br>
<br>
The work we and the larger OSM community do is making a difference in<br>
events like this.<br>
<br>
We received feedback on things we can improve and a major, complicated<br>
event like Nepal continues to teach us lessons for the future. But<br>
over all, the general attitude was that HOT and OSM are doing world<br>
changing work and none of it would be possible without you.<br>
<br>
I just wanted to pass that along and I wish you could have all been<br>
there to hear it too.<br>
<br>
