We decided to do large scale deletion for a number of reasons.
- Errors within iD that cause many buildings to be traced several times
thus resulting in many many overlapping buildings.
- I personally fixed thousands of overlaps and fixed several thousand of
other validation errors in the area.<br><br></pre><pre><span lang="en">I remember those maphatons done remotely that had caused these duplicates. <br>Haiti OSM community wanted to correct... But it's good if it has been done</span></pre><pre><br><br><br> - Poor spatial consistency between multiple imagery resources<br><br><br></pre><pre><span style="background-color:rgb(0,0,255)">I don't know what is a poor consistenc. <br><br>I though it was a good chance to have multiple High resolution imagery (4 /8 cm)<br></span></pre><pre><span style="background-color:rgb(0,0,255)">over the same area every years.<br></span></pre><pre><span style="background-color:rgb(0,0,255)">But we can talk about it separatly </span><br></pre><pre><br><br> - Bing

- Recent GeoEye imagery
- Lack of existing drone imagery led us to acquire high resolution
satellite imagery.<br><br></pre><pre><span style="background-color:rgb(0,0,255)">Several time OSM haiti propose to cover this area with drone</span><br></pre><pre><br><br> - Imagery isn't nearly as clean and sharp as the drone imagery being
shot but is consistent throughout the entire area.<br><br><br></pre><pre>At least this area will be mapped and that is a good news, so happy mapping party for all. <br><br></pre><pre>Remote mapping is good, <span lang="en">but the involvement of the OSM community in the field allows to go further in mobilizing communities on the long term .</span></pre><br></div></div></div>
