Hi All,

A quick not to let you all know that Frank Steggink is now the main developer of the canvec-to-osm script.
He has been working on the geobase2osm import and knows python script & postGIS database MUCH better than i do.

If anyone wants to see this verson it's available here
http://www.mediafire.com/file/yzixbr4zy1v/canvec-to-osm script_v0_9_9_0.zip

So i'll be there available to help (from experience with the canvec & geobaseNHN), where i can. So i'll be able to now be on the recieving end, and help once the files are made available and ready to copy-in to osm. (if others dont beet me to it to it :)

What i will be doing (am doing) is being the one who is in chart of maintaining there Canada Import Status Chart of Google Docs. So i'll be keeping track of everyone who has editing acess the chart, and making sure that everyone is on the same page (literally). and is kept uptodate on the latest changes ... fortunatly, this wont be as hard as the Canvec data was. But still challenging, and fun for me :)

.. and so, now i can continue on with converting the national protected areas dataset :)

So after 1 year of work on is, im certainly happy to pass on the tourch.

cheers,
Sam Vekemans
OSM Canada Import Coordinator
