It could be perhaps used for geocoding and only addresses with above a certain match rate would be used. It wouldn't be any further off than some of the GNIS data. People could then reposition it. </div>
<div><br></div><div>I'm torn on whether or not this makes sense to do though. I think we would end up with duplicates where people add stores where TIGER didn't place them close enough to their actual location.</div>

</div>As the discussion on the international mailing-list shows<br>
TIGER contains "potential addresses". Meaning that<br>
it only tells you what range of house-numbers is reserved<br>
for a block. Not where each house is or if a number is in use<br>
at all.<br>
