There are some very experienced user who can calculate those missing address tags from admin boudaries in OSM but they are minority.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>The vast majority of OSM users here have never heard of boundary relation. If we want to convince them that OSM is useful (i.e. generating POI files for navigation units) then we have to make the as simple as possible.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>Of course country tag seems that it can be omitted very easily, but there are many border regions where filtering would be so much easier if you can rely just on a simple question for country = CZ or DE or PL.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>At the end we thought that adding addr:country=CZ is not that much data.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoPlainText>However there was never a debate suggesting that we should drop lower level boundaries tags.
