
<html><body><div>Dear fellow mappers,<br> <br>a few weeks ago, I received permission from the Dutch rail infrastructure owner (ProRail) to share their rail GIS data with OSM. Some objects in this dataset obviously can't just simply be imported (think of precise ProRail railway geometry vs existing OSM ways with all their tags and relations) but other objects can be imported quite easily.<br>For the objects that qualify for an easy import, I made the attached proposal. In accordance with the <a data-mce-href="http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/Guidelines" href="http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Import/Guidelines">import guidelines</a>, the proposal has already been discussed with the Dutch community through the forum and through the talk-NL mailing list. The attached proposal is a final selection of this discussion.<br>I look forward to your comments.<br><br>Kind regards,<br>Jeroen Wegdam<br>Railway Engineering student<br><br></div><div>PS: note that this import is mainly aiming at <a data-mce-href="http://openrailwaymap.org" href="http://openrailwaymap.org">OpenRailwayMap</a></div></body></html>
