<div dir="ltr">Hey Russell,<div><br></div><div>To start off, great import wiki! +1 on my vote</div><div><br></div><div>Just wanted to comment on the spatial joins you are performing, we experienced the same pitfall when conducting Ottawa's OSM building import.</div><div><br></div><div><font color="#3d85c6">> <span style="font-family:sans-serif;font-size:14px">To achieve a match, two spatial joins were performed with the OIT address points and roofprint polygons. First using “point falling inside polygon”, then using “closest point” for the remaining records. </span></font></div><div><br></div><div>1. <font color="#38761d"><b>Address fall inside polygon</b></font> (Should be a match)</div><div>2. <b><font color="#ff0000">"Closest point"</font></b> - Normally the closest polygon doesn't mean that's the main building, it could actually be a shed or a garage depending on how accurate the address point is.</div><div><br></div><div><b>How we solved that issue:</b></div><div><br></div><div>1. Using parcel data (seems like you have access to that type of dataset) find all the buildings which are contained inside that parcel.</div><div>2. Exclude sheds & garages (sqft 240 or less)</div><div>3. Find the largest area building (typically the main building).</div><div>4. If more than 3 buildings in the same parcel, ignore matching since this would be typically a farm land and it would be impossible to automatically match the address point with multiple building footprints.</div><div><br></div><div>Best of luck with the import!</div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br clear="all"><div><div class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr"><div style="font-family:arial;font-size:small"><div><i>~~~~~~</i></div><div><i><b>@DenisCarriere</b></i></div><div><div><i>GIS Software & Systems Specialist</i></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
