Also, I personally believe that uploading data to osm (esp. for LIC) should not just be for the sake of uploads but to make real data contributions that those governing institutions and interested parties can rely on to make desired planning progress. In verbatim, I believe that all infrastructure is man-made. That is why for springs, we only mapped ones that have been well-built and cared for. I do not know if this fully alludes to the current dataset structure and esp. why the names attribute exists. Please feel free to discuss this with me. </div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto"><img src="cid:ii_la62gmbp0" alt="image.png" width="194" height="206" style="margin-right: 0px;"><br></div><div dir="auto"><br>You are welcome!</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">Best, </div><div dir="auto">Stellamaris<br><br><br><div class="gmail_quote" dir="auto"><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_attr">On Sun, Nov 6, 2022, 5:51 PM Phil Wyatt <<a href="mailto:phil@wyatt-family.com" target="_blank">phil@wyatt-family.com</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div lang="EN-AU" link="blue" vlink="purple" style="word-wrap:break-word"><div><p class="MsoNormal"><span>Hi Stellamaris,<u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><u></u> <u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span>I think what Frederik is suggesting is that many of your ‘names’ are actually other keys/values<u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><u></u> <u></u></span></p><ul style="margin-top:0cm" type="disc"><li style="margin-left:0cm"><span>a spring would be natural=spring<u></u><u></u></span></li><li style="margin-left:0cm"><span>a well or bore hole would be man_made=water_well<u></u><u></u></span></li><li style="margin-left:0cm"><span>water tank would be man_made=storage_tank, content=water<u></u><u></u></span></li></ul><p class="MsoNormal"><span><u></u> <u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dwater_well" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dwater_well</a><u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><a href="https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dstorage_tank" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:man_made%3Dstorage_tank</a><u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><u></u> <u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span>Cheers - Phil<u></u><u></u></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span><u></u> <u></u></span></p><div style="border:none;border-top:solid #e1e1e1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0cm 0cm 0cm"><p class="MsoNormal"><b><span lang="EN-US">From:</span></b><span lang="EN-US"> Stellamaris Nakacwa <<a href="mailto:sn00013@mix.wvu.edu" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">sn00013@mix.wvu.edu</a>> <br><b>Sent:</b> Monday, 7 November 2022 9:09 AM<br><b>To:</b> Frederik Ramm <<a href="mailto:frederik@remote.org" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">frederik@remote.org</a>><br><b>Cc:</b> <a href="mailto:imports@openstreetmap.org" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">imports@openstreetmap.org</a><br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [Imports] UPLOADING U-WIMP project data to osm<u></u><u></u></span></p></div><p class="MsoNormal"><u></u> <u></u></p><div><p class="MsoNormal">Thank you, Frederik, for the feedback. <u></u><u></u></p><div><p class="MsoNormal">All tags have an acceptable osm_xml data file.
