<div dir="ltr">Hello Simon,<div><br></div><div>the French Local chapter have been financing HOT through some of the donation that we have. That money is supervised by the donators and the OSM-FR board.</div><div>It is not OSM-FR to intervene outside our borders and any specifics actions outside the French territory is going to be usually in very specific area like HOT for example. We helped those projects as it aligned with our donors' goal and the further goal of promoting and using OSM in different areas.</div>
<div>We have no intention on taking over the foundation role or HOT but we are happy to collaborate if we have the necessary funds to help achieve a particular topic if we have specific money to accomplish those tasks.</div>

</div>I wasn't specifically aware of that (already) happening, IMHO it would<br>
really depend on the community in the country/region if that is OK or<br>
not. Obviously we could cater for it in the contract, but just as a<br>
tendency I would be a bit reluctant to "give" a region to a larger<br>
organisation in a different country, it is just sure to cause an issue<br>
down the road.<br>
