No, the slippy map that is generated by mapnik is only updated
every week. If you switch the presentation to osmarender (use
the "+" button in the upper right corner), you might see your
changes earlier. These tiles are generated by a distributed
project called tiles at home.

You might want to look at the osm wiki and read up a little
on how the maps are rendered.
