This isn't about Qt or C++ or lack of skills. This is about lack of
testing before a release goes out. 

The reason for the lack of testing is the lack of manpower - merkaartor
is currently mostly a one-man-show wrt. development and while I'm sure
Chris tried the stuff he writes it's known that it's hard for developers
to actually find issues in their own programs as the programmer only
uses them the way he planned them to be used.

So if you (or anyone else) wants less bugs the only way to achieve that
is to test the code before it's released and report issues.

We as a community probably need to do a better job at offering
git-snapshot binaries (just talking about linux here because that is
what I am using).

PS: The wording of your question is pretty harsh - If someone would send
me a line like this for a FLOSS-Project that I have written I'd probably
delete that email without doing anything about it.
