Hi Bart,

Glad to see you back.

The timeline seems perfect.
I also propose to create a Merkaartor-0.11 branch in svn.
Rationale:
1) to not freeze the trunk for 2 weeks
2) to have a 'reference' 0.11
3) to be able to do bug-fixing on 0.11 and be able to do point releases (0.11.1, 0.11.2,...) as needed, while still having a stable base rather than SVN.

If you agree, I'll branch on friday and ask the translators to do their stuff there.
I'll also ask the SVN users to use this on their daily mapping to be able to catch major bugs to be fixed before the release.

CU
- Chris -

P.S. regarding the WIX, I didn't notice (or already forgot) it was already in svn;-)

Yes, I was liberated from my cast two weeks ago and have been catching
up with work/travel. But I have time for doing a release.

It is now july 8th. Let's stop adding strings by friday. Then
have a two-week bugfix-only period. I can roll the release
on friday 25th for source+mac+windows. How would that work for
packagers on other distributions?

Next, are there any showstoppers in functionality/bugs? Is the
infinity issue with Qt 4.4 + yahoo maps + opensuse solved?

Sounds good. I have not been following things very closely lately
See that as a good thing : there is now such a vibrant development
community around Merkaartor that I am not strictly needed anymore!
This is actually my first open source project that has attracted
so much external attention despite my own shortcomming and I am
really glad an gratefull for it!

And I think others do too. There is a steady increase in visitors
to the merkaartor homepage and downloads. Just to give an impression :
in februari 809 people visited the merkaartor homepage with around
400 downloads for the windows installer. Last month, this had become
2500 visits and we missed the 1000 downloads for the windows
installer by a hair. This despite there not being a new official release
for quite a while. And that is without counting the 100 or so weekly
downloads of the 0.11 prerelease. Well, and of course thanks to the
excellent work from our packagers for all the favourite linux
distributors there are probably a lot more mappers enjoying
merkaartor on a free os.

> If you're not available, or your accident still bother you, I can arrange
> for it if you provide me with the WIX scripts for win32.

These should be in the repository under the windows directory.
If anything is missing let me know. Here are the steps I usually take
to generate a windows binary

- fresh checkout in cygwin
- compile through Qt mingw command prompt
- switch back to cygwin to launch the makefile inside the windows dir
