I've been offline this weekend. To do some mapping without being online I exported the area to an osm xml file before and saved that as mdc in merkaartor 0.11 under winxp. This worked fine for two days but without any great changes the file suddendly crashed merkaartor when opened with an access violation.

It's reproducable on my machine, so maybe if there is a pdb available I could try to do some further debugging. Otherwise I could share the mdc file, but I'm not sure if that would reproduce the error. I've got no other machine to check.

Another issue when reading the data of the mdc file (with a text editor) seems the command history. When adding a e.g. a name to a road every letter of the name is a new command. Wouldn't it be sufficient to store every changed name as one atomical step? Or even do not store any history information, since one could argue that saving a file would imply that the file is correct.
