Thanks,
when I click on the 'edit'-tab, the HTTP-headers I get
from the HTTP-server are as follows for the MainPage
HTTP/1.x 200 OK
Date: Sat, 22 Dec 2007 12:26:49 GMT
Server: Apache/2.2.3 (Debian) DAV/2 SVN/1.4.2 PHP/5.2.0-8+etch7 mod_ruby/1.2.6 Ruby/1.8.6(2007-03-13)
X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.0-8+etch7
Content-Encoding: gzip
Vary: Accept-Encoding
Content-Length: 189
Content-Type: application/x-external-editor; charset=utf-8
Age: 329
X-Cache: HIT from 89-145-68-232.as29017.net
X-Cache-Lookup: HIT from 89-145-68-232.as29017.net:80
Connection: keep-alive
The following header
Content-Type: application/x-external-editor; charset=utf-8
makes my browser (firefox 2 and IE7) show up with a 'download/or open with
another application'-dialog. I print the text for the MainPage when I do
open the index.php page in a texteditor:
[Process]
Type=Edit text
Engine=MediaWiki
Script=http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php
Server=http://wiki.openstreetmap.org
Path=
Special namespace=Special
[File]
Extension=wiki
URL=http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php?title=Main_Page&action=edit&internaledit=true
When I follow the link
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php?title=Main_Page&action=edit&internaledit=true
by pasting it in my webbrowser I get where I want to => the possibility to
edit the Main_Page
So, what should I possibly change in my webbrowsers (firefox and IE7) to
automatically go from the original wikipage to the editable wikipage,
leaving out one texteditor session+ a copy&paste job? Isn't this an
HTTP-response header problem?
Maybe everybody else here is used to the procedure describe above?
kind regards,
ivo
