[OSM-newbies] Openstreetmap rendering broken by ridiculous error messages

Oh, good. So it wasn't entirely my blunder.  I still feel embarrassed
about not spotting the problem although I guess my original point (about
any ordinary user) would stand  whenever it was on by default.
