work how it's supposed to.  I've certainly had trouble rendering
coastlines.  One area I mapped over two weeks ago shows up pretty well in
Osmarender, but is completely absent from Mapnik still.

I wish I could find more information on how exactly the renderers work.  For
example what tags are currently recognized, how they are rendered, and when
updates have been made to recognize new tags or change the rendering
behavior of old ones.  Does anyone know of such a release note type of page
for the renderers?
