[OSM-newbies] Converting GPS tracks to ways

I tried using GPSBabel to grab the track log from the GPS, and save it
to a file, to remove the possibility that the EasyGPS program I used
was the culprit. West+Whitecroft1.gpx is the same trace downloaded and
saved via GPSBabel.

This didn't change anything...

I have also tried editing traces that have been uploaded by others. Still no go.

I'm running IE7 with Flash Player version 9,0,28,0 installed.
