[OSM-newbies] loading GPX files

When I load a gpx file into JOSM and transfer them to the data layer, I can
select the lines fine, but I can't select the points although they are on
the same layer. Am I missing something, or doesn't JOSM accept waypoints as
data.

For some reason it seems that loading a new GPX file into an empty
JOSM just doesn't show the points right away. But all you have to do
is right-click on the gpx file in the list and assign it a new color
and the points show up.
No problems after that.
