<font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">Hi All, <br>
<br>
I'm mapping in Sri Lanka, and a lot of small places are named according
to their main road junction. They can be populated or not, and have no
administrative recognition or value. They are however used in everyday
life for directions and for postal addresses. <br>
So far, I've tagged them as (e.g.)<br>
</font>
<blockquote><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">highway=junction<br>
</font><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">name=Beligaha
Junction <i>(that's actually the name of the tree that used to be
there a few decades ago...)</i><br>
</font><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">is_in=Galle, Galle
District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka<br>
</font></blockquote>
<font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">However, the name of the
junction is not rendered by Mapnik nor Osmarender so far. As these are
crucial information, when asking for directions for example, I would
like to find a way for them to appear on the map. <br>
<br>
Different tags I could use are <br>
</font>
<ol>
<li><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">"place=locality" on a
POI a few meters from the junction (these places might be populated
(often within cities or town) or not)</font></li>
<li><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">"place=hamlet" on a POI
a few meters from the junction (but as I said some places are
unpopulated, 2 houses at the crossroad of 2 primary highways..., and no
administrative value)</font></li>
<li><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">...?<br>
</font></li>
</ol>
<font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">What are your suggestions?<br>
