would, indeed, be footways. They are not more than 10 feet across, if

that.  Outlining them as an area, like I did for the Santa Monica

Promenade, would be beyond my ability to steady my hand. Sounds like it's

"footways" then.<br>

There's a fuzzy line between them, but from what you have described, I

would say they are highway=pedestrian. If they are called

"streets" then that suggests they might even be wide enough

that you can convert them from lines into areas. If they were less than 2

or 3 metres wide, then I would start considering highway=footway instead.

A handful of pictures often helps for these situations, there's often a

lot of confusion when trying to describe them in words. <br>
