Hi Patrick,

Welcome to OSM, I haven't been around all that long either, but am
thoroughly enjoying OSM and all that it is capable of!

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chip in with the relevant
links, but as far as I remember form previous posts to the group, the
web interface does not update coastlines immediately. This means that
the data is correct, but the rendering is still displaying the old
data. If I remember correctly, this is updated weekly.

You can also enable the data layer when viewing the map online and that
should reflect the changes you have made.

Kind regards,

Im new to OSM and have followed the instructions to upload data using
the JOSM editor.
My mapping was done on Tory Island (NW Ireland) where the existing OSM
outline of the island is
incorrect e.g. the shore outline is inland by up to 100m in many
places. I moved the outline during editing
but when I view the subsequently uploaded map some of my features
appear in the sea.
How can I correct the island ouline?
