(to all the various replies)

Thanks for all the feedback! I have no problem making graphics that go unused, if I had to force everyone to use anything I've made then it wouldn't feel right. I never work on a product with the assumption that I'll be the "last word in X" because needs are very unique from project to project. I'm also well aware things like the logo always tend to be touchy subjects, and that half the time projects like this have a very vested interest in their existing logos (Ie T-Shirts, recognition, etc), I know that while I can make a design that might be 'pretty', I know that my design is technically less usuable and doesn't scale as well as the origional; I know I could make 50 icons I think are fantastic but might actually be a horrible idea to use on a map. That, and re-rendering - I don't want to imagine the horsepower it takes to keep tiles up-to-date nonetheless refreshing them all. Really, I just agree that with any project like this that I should know to hope for the best - but expect the worst - and never rock the boat.

I have no problem licencing my work under the CCo Licence, consider it done.

I'll look at the flash editor artwork; though I'm probably not going to prioritize it in favour of more userland-based graphics - however unfair it is - people judge the quality of software by the 'prettiness' of the UI alone, which is probably why I will submit new controls for the openlayers map controls first, since those are very visible, I can hit them quickly, and have a few different styles for review. Hitting the larger icon sets will be slower for me simply because I have quite a bit going on to keep bread on the table and trying to make mass-icons is a real time-killer. I'll start joining the more focused mailing-lists proper soon and then going from there.

Thank you all again for the quick replies, it's very much appreciated and was quite informational. Cheers!
- Ken Vermette
