</div>I reworded a bit the wiki. The traffic signs are really optional. It's<br>
only tagged by people frustrated by the completness of their local<br>
area in OSM ;-)<br>
If you really want to waste your time in tagging traffic signs, you<br>
should put a node besides the highway way, where the sign is<br>
physically. It's not really important to say on which direction it<br>
applies since the primary information is present on the way itself<br>
(tagged with maxspeed=*).<br>
