<html><head><style type="text/css"><!-- DIV {margin:0px;} --></style></head><body><div style="font-family:garamond,new york,times,serif;font-size:12pt;color:#000000;"><br>The Board of the OpenStreetMap Foundation was made aware of public admission [1] by<br>User Anthony to using Google Maps as a source for tracing data into OpenStreetMap.<br><br>The OpenStreetMap project takes copyright and data licence infringement very seriously<br>and will act quickly to suspend or ban users and remove data that is clearly infringing.<br>The community maintains a well known stance on the use of Google Maps [2], and there<br>is no tolerance for willful disregard of this policy.<br><br>The Data Working Group banned further contributions by this user, and the Board<br>has notified the user directly.
