Hi Sev,

I knew I would never make the meeting, or remember to vote at the weekend, so I did it by email a few days before. The nice thing about voting by email is that if you change your mind you can just vote again as it's the last email you send that gets counted.

Perhaps we need some more "I've voted" announcements in the days before the deadline to encourage / remind others to email in.

Cheers, Joseph

On Mon Dec 08 2014 at 21:45:28 Severin Menard <severin.menard@gmail.com> wrote:

Hi,

My apologies for not having voted, as it was really my intention but I just did not put the deadline on my agenda, followed main of the exchanges and appreciated the explanations provided by some about the choices at stake, had a busy week, had in mind to definitely check the deadline at the end of the week... but it was too late.

Clearly it is my mistake, I should have dedicated one single minute to check the date and definitely will do it next time. It is not related about the fact the discussions are quite antagonistic sometimes; it may be regretful, personal attacks never solve anything but well, it is in the human nature to have opposed opinions on topics people are really engaged in.

Maybe next time send reminders at eg D-2 and D-1 in caps to attract the eye among many threads on the list, or having a purely official, informing channel and one another for the passionate discussions?

Sincerely,

Severin

On Sun, Dec 7, 2014 at 5:33 PM, Marc Zoutendijk <marczoutendijk@mac.com> wrote:

Dear List,
What was all that fuzz about the last months?

When I discovered OSM and started to contribute as mapper, I thought it would be good/necessary/helpful to also become a member of the foundation as well. So I did. Shocking to realize that never in my life I became a member of such a painful minority.

We have a long way to go to improve support for OSMF by increasing membership numbers.
