<div dir="ltr">Hi Christoph,<div><br></div><div>I cannot speak for the others who wrote positive congratulatory emails to thank those who got this Welcome Mat started. From my perspective: Yes I have read that page - it is great isn't it. What a wonderful resource to be able to direct interested organisations at. So amazing to see OpenStreetMap used by all of these companies, governments, educational institutions, media and third sector organizations. I assume the plan is to translate these pages as well, and I cannot wait to see what other organisations get added as it goes through translation. The number of users of OSM continues to astonish me :-)</div><div><br></div><div>On the point about the CWG: You'd need to get their confirmation that they have the spare capacity to pick this up. I shall leave it to them to comment on that. </div><div><br></div><div>With best regards,<br clear="all"><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><span style="color:rgb(0,0,255)"><b>Rob</b></span><br></div></div></div></div></div><br></div></div><br><div class="gmail_quote"><div dir="ltr">On Wed, 28 Nov 2018 at 11:07, Christoph Hormann <<a href="mailto:chris_hormann@gmx.de">chris_hormann@gmx.de</a>> wrote:<br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">On Tuesday 27 November 2018, Mikel Maron wrote:<br>

Have all those full of praise for this actually read<br>

<br>
Do you find anything odd about it?<br>
<br>
<br>
On a more general note it was always my assumption that maintainence of <br>
this would be turned over to the OSM community once the first version <br>
is done. It is somewhat questionable to not have the CWG lead the <br>
design of such a document in the first place but given we have a result <br>
now there is no real need to question that in retrospect. But AFAIK <br>
this would be the first part of <a href="http://openstreetmap.org" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">openstreetmap.org</a> that is under direct <br>
control of the OSMF board - which does not seem such a good idea.<br>
<br>
Long story short: I think it would be a good idea to turn over control <br>
and responsibility for further maintainance and improvement of this to <br>
the CWG in line with the OSMF mission statement which states for the <br>
board's scope:<br>
<br>
"Does not undermine the Working Groups by taking on tasks that could be <br>
advanced by them"<br>
