More details to come soon.<div><br></div><div>I think Dorothea does an exceptional job where it comes to transparency, particularly in documentation of this years 2019 scholarships. I’ll get started with 2020, based on what we’re already documenting <div><br></div><div>Whether the rest of the board wants to exercise more oversight is up for them to discuss. In response to your points from me</div><div><br></div><div>* we have evaluated open source alternatives for managing the scholar assessment process but did not find anything that particularly allowed for real time collaboration. Open to suggestions for evaluation.</div><div>* we are working on a privacy policy / gdpr compliance for this year</div><div>* we will be openly recruiting for the selection committee, as well as perhaps asking this years scholars. We havent yet discussed a coi policy, but it’s a good idea<br>* we allow scholars to submit in their language of choice, and translate for evaluation. If there’s more we can do to make this equitable for all language speakers, share ideas.</div><div>* evaluation happens in two phases, first a raw scoring for short list, and then a discussion / selection. The program is developed similarly. Note this is a self<br clear="none">emphasizing problem: If community members see that this kind of work<br clear="none">is tasked to paid contractors as needed they are likely less motivated<br clear="none">to do it as volunteers.
