this is that the processes are not always applied to all tags,
and thus the developers have to make choices under circumstances
in which no clear majority favors one tag over other options.
The developers have asked for a mechanism to adjudicate disputes
that takes them out of the line of fire. I see nothing wrong
with either that request or the Board's acceptance of that task,
and the Boards' requesting comments from the community on a way
of amicably and reasonably settling disputes over not only
tagging but other modifications to iD.</font></p>
<p><font face="Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">I would appreciate
receiving thoughts on how a dispute resolution / adjudication
mechanism could work, rather than scolding the iD developers.

there is such a process to agree on tags and document it, the particular problem with iD was that they deliberately ignored it.
