<p>That was my point, paypal has been an issue multiple times. While
we should strive to make this as rare as possible, a world in
which we will never have payment issues seems to be very unlikely
and we need to make it easy for members to notice that something
has gone wrong and correct it (the MWG has afaik long proposed
displaying a badge in the members OSM profile as positive
confirmation of membership).<br>

<p>The second issue is clearly of our own making. But we do not
currently know if either had anything to do with the issue you
experienced, and members mistakenly not being allowed to vote
could be anywhere between 0 and 121 (?). <br>
</p>
<p>Realistically we can't make the board elections hostage to there
being no issues at all. I would be happy if all issues that have
been bought to the attention of the MWG have been resolved by the
meeting. Maybe we need to modify the articles to make it clear
that complaints wrt eligibility need to be submitted a suitable
number of days before the election closing.</p>
