I tried finding another source of osm-data, but I haven't found anythig yet. openstreetmap itself only alows dumps of less then 50k nodes, and downloading the whole planet file is a bit of overkill (+ it wouldn't fit on my hard drive anymore).

So I guess i'm stuck trying with the cloudmade file, in which case brett's proposal still is the best idea yet...if it would work properly. I still haven't figured out how to get that idea working, and I hope someone could help me further out on this!

From: ibrahim_bouchrika@hotmail.com
To: osmosis-dev@openstreetmap.org
Date: Tue, 4 May 2010 14:29:51 +0000
Subject: Re: [osmosis-dev] Can't load osm file to PostGRESql

I deleted the first line of the file, which started with <xml. The first line is now <osm version="0.6" generator="Osmosis 0.31.1">, but the same error persists.

> Date: Tue, 4 May 2010 16:09:50 +0200
> From: frederik@remote.org
> To: ibrahim_bouchrika@hotmail.com
> CC: osmosis-dev@openstreetmap.org
> Subject: Re: [osmosis-dev] Can't load osm file to PostGRESql
>
> Hi,
>
> Ibrahim Bouchrika wrote:
> > Your idea seams nifty, although it's giving an error on the --rx
> command.
