<p>I don't think I'm any more sure than you whether the static or dynamic model is best...</p>
<p>One thing about the static model is that there are really two different sorts of lists of activity for a user - one is the list of "activity by the user" and the other is the list of "activity the user is interested in"</p>
<p>So the first is what you might display to a third party visiting a user's page, and the second is what you display to the user themselves. Indeed the second might include elements of the first for friends and/or nearby users.</p>
<p>We are definitely going to want to pull in stuff from other sources like OWL, and potentially the thing <a href="https://github.com/emacsen" class="user-mention">@emacsen</a> is working on, but I think we can do that in either model, just in different ways.</p>
