<p>Currently the Rails Port declares itself as XHTML 1.0 Transitional. I think we should go for <code><!DOCTYPE html></code> to fall in line with the majority of the internets, unless there's a reason not to.</p>
<p>The main reason not too would be, maybe, if OpenLayers vector features break since this might cause the compatibility mode in IE to change.</p>
