<p>Well the iframe certainly isn't ideal, but I realise that things may be tricky without it... I imagine it will make it hard to do any sort of communication between iD and the rest of the site though.</p>

<p>Currently we do various sorts of interaction for Potlatch - updating the URLs on the view tab etc as the viewport changes, handling the maximise/minimise key, and integrating the main site search (though iD has it's own anyway).</p>
