<p>OK, I took a deeper look:<br>
The text gets broken in the <a href="https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/blob/master/vendor/assets/jquery/jquery.autogrowtextarea.js">autoGrow</a> plugin. It looks like a Opera gets confused by the hacks the plugin applies to the textarea in order to determine "the character width". Note that as osm.org doesn't use a monospaced font, this can't work. The plugin does a pretty bad job anyway: Try to edit one of my <a href="http://api06.dev.openstreetmap.org/user/tyrTester06/diary">test entries</a>: you get a textarea with hidden content without a scrollbar!</p>
<p>Can you try upgrading to <a href="http://www.technoreply.com/autogrow-textarea-plugin-3-0/">version 3.0</a> of this plugin?</p>
