<p>The <code>user#make_friend</code> action does redirect as expected in this case (it's an automatic consequence of the <code>require_user</code> filter) but that link has some sort of click handler that is doing a <code>POST</code> rather than following the link in the normal way, and that is defeating the redirect.</p>
