<p>As we zero in on details, I'd like to emphasize the overall goal here: this is to create a one pager that helps anyone new get started mapping. It's what you'd link to from a sentence like:</p>

<p>The page proposed in this PR would be used:</p>

<ul>
<li>When any user signs up, as a replacement for much of the content of the text-only and outdated welcome email</li>
<li>To link to OSM where the intent is to get people get started with mapping (could be from an edit button from any OSM map out there for instance).</li>
