<p>When you request a node which has never existed the response is a single space, with <code>Content-Length: 1</code> and a 404 status.</p>

<p>When you request a node which has been deleted the response is empty, with <code>Content-Length: 0</code> and a 410 status.</p>

<p>We should be consistent about an empty response vs. a space as a response.</p>
