<p>Personally I follow a rule as follows for any text which might get linkified (email, blog comments etc) </p>
<p>If a URL is at the end of a sentence leave a space character before the full stop.<br>
If a URL is at the end of a sentence and also at the end of a paragraph, just don't bother with a full stop. It doesn't add anything useful to the readability anyway. The reader knows they're at the end of a sentence.</p>
<p>But yeah in HTML it's not an issue ...but then HTML emails are evil :-)</p>
<p>Anyway... no biggie.</p>
