<p>If you hit search with no text entered you get no results from Nominatim immediately, but the GeoNames search takes a while to return, and when it does return it gives you a bunch of places in Iran. We should probably handle a blank search internally. I see two possible responses</p>

<ul>
<li>Produce an error message saying no text was entered</li>
<li>Reverse geocode the current location, as proposed in <a href="https://github.com/openstreetmap/openstreetmap-website/issues/373" class="issue-link" title='Rationalize multiple "locate me" type functions'>#373</a>. The downside to this is it wouldn't be obvious that this feature exists.</li>
</ul>
