<p>Sigh... I know that max/fixed width are the current website fashion, but it's really a case of aestetics over usability. You can detect the viewport size/dpi, but you can detect the reader's prefered line-length or favorite font size, because it changes throughout the day, acording to content, etc. There is <em>no</em> set width that will not feel unconfortable to a sizable portion of users at some stage.</p>
<p>Please use the whole viewport width at all times. It enables readers to set whichever width they need right now.</p>
