<p>We just discovered a bug on <a href="https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-de/2013-October/104937.html">talk-de</a> about the preferred languages at the OSM account settings.</p>

<p>The following three settings lead to a German website and to German editor UIs (iD, Potlatch2):</p>

<ul>
<li><em>de</em></li>
<li><em>de-DE</em></li>
<li><em>de,en-US,en</em></li>
<li><em>de-DE,de,en-US,en</em></li>
</ul><p>while this one leads to a English website and English editor UIs:</p>

<ul>
<li><em>de-DE,en-US,en</em></li>
</ul><p>So, a single <em>de-DE</em> works but in combination with other languages it gets ignored.</p>
